According to China Association of Metros:
As of June 30, 2020, a total of 41 cities in mainland China have put into operation 6917.62 km of urban rail transit lines. In the first half of 2020, Tianshui has been added as an urban rail transit operation city; in addition, Shijiazhuang, Hangzhou, Shenyang, Ningbo, and Changsha will also have new lines, staged projects or later opening section. In the first half of 2020, a total of 181.42 km of new lines have been added, 5 lines have been added, and 3 extension sections or later opening sections have been opened. To sum up, the approved projects in the first half of 2020 involve 272.54 km of new lines, with an additional investment of 230.615 billion yuan.
